A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a collision on the Bonnie Prince island.
The man, from Derby, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
The pedestrian involved in the collision, a 38-year-old man from Nottingham, remains in a critical condition in hospital with his family by his side.
Detectives investigating the incident are appealing for anyone who may have been in the Bonnie Prince island area at around 3.20am on Monday 31 May and saw either a bald headed man or a white Mercedes Vito van, which is understood to have been involved in the collision, in the area.
Of particular interest are drivers with dashcam video and homeowners with CCTV that may have captured any relevant footage.
