Main article content
A man remains in hospital and detectives are questioning three people following an alleged stabbing in Swadlincote.
Officers were called to Eureka Park in the town shortly before 8pm last night to reports of an injured man.
The 19-year-old man was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Officers arrested three people shortly afterwards – two young men and one woman. They remain in custody today and are being questioned.
The teenagers, aged 17 and 18, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder while the 64-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
We are not able to confirm at this time if this case is linked to the tragic death of 17-year-old Benjamin Orton in the town on Saturday evening during an incident which also saw a 20-year-old man injured. Three teens, aged 16, 17 and 17 have now been charged in connection with this crime.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to what happened in Eureka Park last night. Although several people have come forward, we believe there are other passers-by who have yet to contact us.
