Man seriously injured in Allenton collision
Main article content
A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after he was struck by a car which didn’t stop at the scene.
Shortly before 5pm on Bank Holiday Monday (May 3), a 68-year-old man was crossing Harvey Road, Allenton, near to Starbucks.
As he crossed the road, he was struck by a silver Volkswagen Passat, which witnesses say may have been speeding.
The driver didn’t stop at the scene. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with extensive leg injuries and a fractured eye socket.
Although passers-by did stop to help the man, we believe there may be other witnesses who have yet to come forward.
