A man has been arrested after a serious collision left a woman suffering serious injuries.
We were called to reports of a collision between a blue Vauxhall Corsa and a pedestrian in Hardy Barn, near Heanor, at 7.25pm last night (22 December).
The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries – where she remains.
The driver of the Vauxhall, a man in his 20s who was heading from Ilkeston to Heanor, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and has been released on police bail.
Officers investigating the incident are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident – as well as any drivers who were on the A6007 between Ilkeston and Heanor between 7.10pm and 7.30pm and have dashcam that captured a blue Vauxhall Corsa.
