Officers are appealing for the public’s help after a man and a woman were threatened by burglars during a burglary.
We were called to the scene, in Trent Lane, Newton Solney, after we received a call to report that two men had broken into a house just after 9pm on Friday 15 November.
They threatened a man and a woman in the address – demanding the key to a vehicle, which they handed over, however, the two burglars were unable to steal the car and left in a small dark coloured car that drove down Trent Lane onto Main Street.
The pair of burglars were described as around 6ft tall, white, and both were dressed in dark clothing and had their faces covered.
Neither the man nor woman were physically hurt.
Officers attended the scene soon after the men had left and secured vital evidence – including CCTV and forensics – along with other lines of enquiry that are currently being followed.
Since the incident both uniformed and plain clothes patrols have been stepped up in the area – and armed response vehicles are also including the area in their routine patrols.
Detectives are keen to hear from anyone with CCTV from the area that has not already spoken to officers, as well as anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or saw the men leaving in the car.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the force using any of the below methods, including reference 24*683242:
