Officers are appealing for a key witness to come forward following an assault in Derby.
A man allegedly attacked a woman in Bentley Street close to the junction with Upper Moor Road in Alvaston, Derby, at about 10pm on Friday 13 December.
Since the incident officers have been following a number of lines of investigation and are now appealing for the public’s help.
A witness reportedly drove past and saw the assault unfolding. We are urging this person to come forward and speak to officers as they could hold vital information that would help with our investigation.
Officers would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has dashcam footage.
In addition, we are appealing for any residents, businesses or organisations based close to the junction of Bentley Street and Upper Moor Road who may have CCTV footage of the incident and have not yet spoken to officers to come forward.
A 36-year-old man has been charged with assault, strangulation and criminal damage in connection with the incident.
He appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Monday 23 December and was remanded into police custody to appear in court at a later date.
