This site is a beta, which means it's a work in progress and we'll be adding more to it over the next few weeks. Your feedback helps us make things better, so please let us know what you think.
As the nights are drawing in and the clocks go back on October 29, we want to remind people to stay vigilant when it comes to burglars and report anything suspicious to us.
If you have outbuildings such as sheds or garages, check the locks and windows each night, install blinds and motion sensors to deter intruders, and if possible do not store anything of high value in sheds. If you must, use a heavy duty lock and secure it to something that cannot be removed.
There are many companies that offer product markings for your valuables, you can find more information on our website: Mark your property to deter burglars | Derbyshire Constabulary
Our Safer Neighbourhood Teams offer free bike marking. Take a look at your local team’s page to find out if they will be doing one soon.
If you suspect someone you know might be involved in this, you can report this to us and remain anonymous.
You can also anonymously contact the independent charity CrimeStoppers, on 0800 555 111, or by visiting the CrimeStoppers website: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/
