PCSO Ellie Nugent aimed high when considering how to talk and meet with young people.
The ‘Climb with a Copper’ event at Derby Clip ‘n Climb saw young climbers pit their skills against local officers: PC Brown, PC Bull and PC Walsha.
Meanwhile, PCSO Nugent, PCSO Humphries and PC Spilsbury chatted to parents and children as they had a stall with colouring books, stickers and further advice on keeping safe.
PCSO Nugent, who organised the event, said: “As the school holidays start, this was a great opportunity to talk to people of all ages in a fun way in somewhere you might not expect to see the police.
“By doing something like this, we can show that the police are here to help and encourage children to talk to us.
“Thank you to Clip ‘n Climb for hosting us, it was great to see so many children enjoying themselves and putting the officers through their paces!”
