Got some last-minute shopping to do? The busy Christmas period can make it easier for thieves to target distracted shoppers.
However, our officers work with local retailers and businesses to make sure our high streets and town centres are safe places to shop, whatever the time of year.
To help combat opportunist thieves, we ask you to be mindful of your personal belongings, keep them secure and only carry what you need.

We also encourage people to contact us if you see anyone acting suspiciously when you’re out and about. Report online or call 101 for non-emergencies. You should dial 999 in an emergency or if you suspect a crime to be in progress.
It’s easy to think it will never happen to you, but please take the time to make sure your belongings and your vehicle are secure when you shop, and help us keep you safe at this time of year.
