Three Derbyshire officers are now back in the country after working hard to keep sports fans and Paralympians safe.
Our officers spent two weeks in the French capital patrolling the streets, attending events and working with international teams to help police the summer of sport in Paris.
PC Nathan Todd said: “My time in Paris was an experience I’ll never forget. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and there were people from all over the world coming together for one of the biggest events.
“It was a great experience and a once in a lifetime opportunity to get to work in France and see how the police work. They were friendly and very willing to show us how they operate and tackle crime.
“It was also great to see police officers from all over the world ensuring the games went smoothly. At the station I was based at there were officers from Chile, South Korea and Spain.
“I will take numerous memories away from this trip, but it will just be the experience of working alongside French police officers patrolling the streets, carrying out searches and assisting with taking people to custody. I will take all the experiences from Paris to help me continue to develop and be the best officer I can be for Derbyshire police.”
