We've not seen them as much as we'd like this year, but we can't wait to welcome them back.
Due to the Covid19 pandemic, back in March 2020 we had to take the hard decision to suspend our volunteers coming in to work with us.
It wasn’t a decision that was taken lightly, but one that was needed to keep them and their families safe.
In that time we have really missed their invaluable contributions to policing in this time.
Assistant Chief Constable Michelle Shooter said: “I know this year has been really different, really challenging for all of us. I don't think any of us thought 18 months ago we'd be living through Covid19, and I know a lot of our Volunteers and Cadets have had a very different experience from us.
"I just want to say thank you to you all, thank you for your patience and I'm looking forward to welcoming you back volunteering for us and supporting your communities as the Government's roadmap eases.”
Every day we thank them for their invaluable contribution to policing, but this week especially we’d like to shine the spotlight on them and the amazing work they do for us.
