Lifesaving equipment has been given to charities and organisations across the county thanks to a donation from the force.
Back in March, the Health and Safety team found themselves with 20 spare defibrillators after working to install standardised devices in all force buildings.
Officers and staff were asked for suggestions of charities that would benefit from the kit after which meant there was a total of 20 spare defibrillators.
These have now been given to various charities and organisations across Derbyshire, and parts of neighbouring Nottinghamshire, ready to help save lives after being given to the following charities:
Health and Safety Advisor Jo Bingley said: "We're so pleased to see that the spare defibrillators have been a welcome addition to the various charities and organisations.
"Across the force, we have worked hard to ensure that we have this important piece of kit in all the buildings.
"As part of this, we wanted to make sure that all the devices were the same, so the new provision meant we had some of the previous devices left over.
"We're so glad that they've been picked up by the organisations as the kit is absolutely fit for purpose and it would be a real waste not to have them on standby. By making them available to use, it could very well safe a life.
"They have also all been sent out with a new battery and set of pads so, whilst we hope people never have to use them, they are ready to go when needed.
"Thank you to everyone who suggested charities and organisations to donate these defibrillators to."
