Last week our volunteer police cadets took on another challenge, this time camping at our force headquarters.
The camp took place across three days, and each day was jam packed with activities which tested the cadets’ detective skills, teamwork, and policing knowledge.
The activities included rock climbing and abseiling, a look into the force’s control room where they listened to 101 and 999 calls, team building sessions, a lesson in searching cars and buildings for illegal items, a challenging mock car crash, and insight into the many specialist roles within policing.
In the evening the cadets enjoyed campfires, pizza, and singing - all whilst surrounded by the busy 24/7 headquarters which was bustling with energy.
We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and know the cadets had a fantastic few days’ insight into the world of policing.
We couldn’t do it without the fantastic leaders who volunteer their time and the cadets themselves who give us boundless energy!
The camp brought to a close another successful year of cadets. We look forward to welcoming them back in September and meeting our new cadets too!
