Ashbourne beat sweep to launch with community event next week
Main article content
We’re inviting residents along to multi-agency roadshow in Ashbourne town centre next week where they can meet police, fire, council and support services and will launch a week long beat sweep to target community concerns
Residents and visitors will get the chance to meet members of their local Safer Neighbourhood policing team and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue service, alongside representatives from Derbyshire Dales District Council and victim support.
As well as offering people the chance to find out more about the work they do to help keep people safe, there will also be an opportunity to speak about community concerns.
The event also ties in with National Hate Crime Awareness Week, and Stop Hate UK will be on hand to raise awareness of hate crime, and to encourage people to come forward and report it.
It will take place on Monday 14 October at the Shawcroft car park, on Park Road, between 11am and 3pm.
Inspector Daron Abbott, who is the lead on policing in the Derbyshire Dales, said: “We’re working together with other emergency services and agencies to hold an event for the community in Ashbourne, to give local people the chance to get to know us and to launch our beat sweep.
“The beat sweep will see a week of action in the Ashbourne area, working with partnership agencies to target community concerns relating to anti-social behaviour and crime. We look forward to meeting local residents and community members, and finding out more about any issues or concerns they may have.”
There will be an opportunity for people to sign up to Derbyshire Alert at the event to receive targeted information and free messages about crime, scams and crime prevention initiatives in their area.
We look forward to seeing lots of our community members there, but if you are unable to make it, and would like to speak to your local policing team about any concerns or issues, please get in touch using any of the following non-emergency contact methods:
