Parts of St Helen’s Street and Higher Albert Street in Chesterfield remain closed today due to structural issues with a building.
Emergency services were called to a property on St Helen’s Street in Chesterfield just after 5.30pm yesterday (23 August) to reports of a property which had partially collapsed.
Three people were rescued from the building by fire crews. A man was taken to hospital by East Midlands Ambulance Service following care by the HART Team. It is not thought his injuries are serious.
We remain at the scene, supporting our colleagues at Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service, while investigations are carried out.
Work is ongoing to make sure the property and neighbouring homes are safe alongside Derbyshire Building Control Partnership and utility companies.
We have also liaised with Derbyshire County Council’s emergency planning team to ensure residents safety and wellbeing.
Please continue to avoid the area. Thank you for your patience.
