A dispersal order has been put in place in Ripley town centre after a large-scale disorder in the town last weekend.
Officers were called to Church Street at about 12.30am on Sunday 31 October after reports of disorder inside and outside Crib Bar, involving a large number of people.
An attending officer was allegedly assaulted, and a 30-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were both injured and taken to hospital.
A man has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker by beating and will appear at court later this month.
Due to this disturbance a dispersal order has been put in place from 7pm today (Friday 5 November).
The dispersal order has been granted under Section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
It allows for Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) and police officers to direct a person to leave the area specified within the order if they have reasonable grounds to suspect their behaviour has caused, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to members of the public.
The order will run until 7am on Sunday 7 November and will cover the area detailed on the below map.
