A woman has died following a house fire in Cromford

A woman has died at a house in Cromford following a fire in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 14 January.
Officers were alerted to the incident on Willersley Lane by Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service at around 3.20am.
The family of the woman, who was aged in her 90s, are aware but formal identification has yet to take place. Our thoughts are with them at this distressing time.
A scene remains in place while the house is made safe and to allow for an investigation to take place.
Willersley Lane will remain closed between Lea Road and Starkholmes Road. Drivers should find alternative routes.
