A woman who died during flooding in Chesterfield has been named.
Maureen Gilbert was found at her home in Tapton Terrace on Saturday 21 October.
The 83-year-old’s family have asked their privacy is respected at this time and do not wish to be approached by members of the press.
Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of her death and yesterday (Monday 23 October) Derbyshire Constabulary referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
The referral is mandatory due to officers being involved with the evacuation of homes in the area on Friday (20 October) evening. This was part of a multi-agency response in which the force was supporting colleagues from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service who were evacuating properties.
The family have been made aware of the referral and are being kept up to date with the latest investigative updates through a dedicated family liaison officer.
