Cordon remains in place after incident in Belper

A cordon remains in place at Costa on King Street, Belper following an incident this morning.

At around 10am on Saturday 16 September reports were received that a man was damaging shops and had assaulted a man.

Following enquiries, it was established that he had caused damage and assaulted two men.

Both men attended hospital and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody.

We are treating this as an isolated incident and enquiries are continuing.
