A 32-year-old man has pleaded guilty to his part in an armed robbery at a Go Outdoors store in Derby.
Jordan Mitchell was arrested following the incident that took place on Monday, 9 December.
Mitchell chased the cash van security guard around the carpark of the store in Ascot Drive armed with a hammer – before making off with a substantial amount of cash.
Mitchell, of Sunnyhill Crescent, Wrenthorpe, Wakefield, appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 20 January, where he pleaded guilty to one count of robbery.
He was remanded to prison and is due to appear at Derby Crown Court on Friday, 17 January, to be sentenced.
Detectives would like to thank members of the public who came forward following a media appeal for witnesses to the incident.
They are still searching for the driver of the Mercedes GLA that was used in the incident and are keen to speak to anyone who has any information about the individual.
