A 28-year-old man from Derby has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm after a woman was seriously injured in an alleged assault.
At around 9.30pm on Monday 25 May, officers were called to reports of a disturbance in Dale Road, Normanton. At the scene a 36-year-old woman was found with serious injuries and was taken to hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
James Henchliffe, of Woolrych Street, Derby, who was arrested at the scene, has now been charged with grievous bodily harm, he appeared at South Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on 27 May where he was remanded into custody.
Two other men who were arrested in connection with the incident have been released without charge.
