Six further arrests in connection with Mackworth shooting

Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a shooting in a Mackworth street.
A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were arrested late on Friday night as part of a large-scale investigation into the incident. Both remain in police custody.
It relates to the shooting of a man in Ilford Drive on the evening of Wednesday 14 September.
The arrests were two of six that have been made in the last two days.
In addition, a 21-year-old woman was arrested on Friday night on suspicion of assisting an offender and has now been released on police bail. An 18-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of the same offence and he remains in custody.
Officers involved in the investigation have also arrested a further two people today – a 45-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man.
The police activity over the course of this weekend takes the total number of arrests to nine.
The victim, a 32-year-old man, remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition. A second man, aged 33, suffered a cut to the head after it is believed he was assaulted nearby.
Earlier this week, three teenage boys were also arrested in connection with the incident and were bailed pending further inquiries.
Our officers have been working closely with colleagues from the Armed Operations Unit of the National Crime Agency and people living in the area will continue to see an increased police presence as the investigation continues.
