A Derby man has admitted killing his wife on the second day of his murder trial.
Conrad Iyayi had initially denied murdering his wife Katy Harris – but at Derby Crown Court today he admitted that he fatally stabbed her in their Littleover home.
Iyayi called police to the house in Oak Crescent shortly before 7.30am on February 6 last year where he told the call handler that he had murdered Ms Harris.
After his arrest the 46-year-old then told officers that he could not remember what had happened after he had taken drugs he purchased on the dark web.
Mother-of-three Ms Harris, who was a much-loved teacher at a school in Mickleover, suffered seven stab wounds in the attack.
Iyayi was remanded to prison and will be sentenced on 18 August.
