We are appealing for any witnesses to come forward after a man was assaulted in the city centre.
We received a report of an altercation between two men on St Peter’s Street in Derby just before 1.30am on Friday 14 July.
The victim, a man in his 50s, was assaulted and left with a head injury.
He has been taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains.
A cordon was in place in St Peter's Street but that has now been lifted.
