A man has been jailed for 17 shoplifting offences, stealing from two vehicles and interfering with another in Derby.
Jason Horner, of no fixed address, but known to be from the Rose Hill area of Derby, pleaded guilty to the offences which took place between Tuesday 16 May and Sunday 2 July this year.
The 36-year-old stole a bag containing clothing from a car parked on Arthur Street on Tuesday 16 May, and for interfering with a vehicle and stealing change from a car on Stanley Street on Wednesday 14 June.
Horner stole items including meat, coffee and washing detergent during his theft spree from Aldi and the Co-Op on Nottingham Road, Sainsburys Local on Farm Street and Aldi at the Meteor Centre.
Officers arrested Horner on Friday 7 July, and he was remanded into custody the following day after an initial court hearing.
He appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court on Monday 10 July and was jailed for a total of 40 weeks imprisonment.
