They say not all heroes wear capes and that was certainly true for one youngster after a chance encounter with some of our roads policing officers.
James and his mum had visited the McDonald’s restaurant in Linville Close, Derby, on 4 March when they bumped in to three of our officers.
The youngster was wearing his Superman outfit and after a chat with the officers, he was delighted to get the opportunity to test out one of our force motorbikes.
His mum Amy said: “My son was dressed as Superman and they said they could relax and take a break because Superman was there. One of the officers also let all my children have a turn at sitting on their bike.
“My son said it was 'THE BEST DAY EVER!'. Thank you so much for making their day! I think you'll have at least one new recruit in the future!”
She added: “My son only wanted to say hello and you went above and beyond! It's definitely become a core memory.”
Keep an eye out in the future as young James may well be swapping his Superman outfit for a Derbyshire police uniform!
