A pair of teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of possessing offensive weapons after an incident in Derby.
Armed officers were deployed to the Derbion shopping centre this evening (2 October) after the force was called at 5.10pm to reports of two teenagers being chased by a group of young men, some of whom were armed with weapons.
Due to the nature of the incident armed officers were sent to the scene. Four young men were stopped and searched – with two being arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.
The 17-year-old and 14-year-old remain in police custody.
Nobody was physically hurt during the incident and further enquiries are being made in relation to the incident.
