Man arrested after Christmas Day assault in Alfreton

A man has been arrested after a Christmas Day assault.
The incident happened in Chesterfield Road, Alfreton, at 6.50pm on 25 December.
A woman was found nearby with injuries to her head and face and today (5 January) a man was arrested in connection with the incident.
The 34-year-old, who is from the Alfreton area, remains in police custody.
