A man and a woman have been charged with a number of offences after a burglary and attempted thefts in Allestree.
The force was called at 3am on 24 December to reports that a house in Chatsworth Avenue had been broken into and the homeowner, a man in his 50s, had been assaulted.
There were then further reports to the force that two people had been trying car doors in Cavendish Avenue and Chatsworth Crescent.
Two people have now been charged with a number of offences in relation to the incidents.
Abigail Green-Margetts, 35, of Bridge Street, Derby, has been charged with one count of burglary, three counts of attempted burglary, and one count of vehicle interference.
She was remanded to police custody and appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Friday 26 January where was released on bail.
Mark Russell, of Bridge Street, Derby, was also arrested in connection with the incidents – and was then charged with two counts of attempted burglary and one count of vehicle interference.
The 38-year-old has been remanded to prison.
The pair will next appear at court on 16 February.
