A man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault in a Derby street.
Abdusalam Hassan was arrested following reports of an assault in Abbey Street at around 7.20pm on Wednesday 2 October.
The 26-year-old, of Burton Road, has today (Friday 4 October) been charged with attempted murder. He has been remanded in police custody and will appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.
The victim of the alleged assault, a man in his 20s, remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Officers remains keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or may be able assist the investigation.
