A 17-year-old who was charged with the murder of Noah Smedley in Ilkeston has appeared at court.
Officers were called to Heanor Road at 8.20pm on Saturday 28 December by East Midlands Ambulance Service to reports of a man collapsed in the road.
Noah Smedley, 18, had suffered a stab wound and died at the scene just before 9pm.
The teenager charged with murder, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on 1 January.
He was remanded to a secure unit and will next appear at Derby Crown Court on Friday 3 January.
Reporting restrictions were imposed by the magistrate not to name him until he turns 18 or until removed by the Crown Court judge.
