Benjamin Morris is the latest Police Community Support Officer to join the local Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Before becoming a PCSO, Ben worked for a company that built minibus, ambulances and camper vans and volunteered with us as a Special Constable in the High Peak area.
He said: “I feel really lucky to work in Bakewell, the town has a great community spirit especially at the moment with everybody seems to be listening to the governments advice of staying home. I feel the local shops are doing a great job of looking after vulnerable people in the area supplying them with food and medicine.
“Since I started I’ve been involved in all different types of events and incidents; no two days are the same. I became a PCSO because I wanted a new challenge, and I love the sense of achievement I feel after completing a shift knowing that I have made a positive change to a situation and hopefully made someone’s life better.”
Outside of work Ben enjoys taking his three-year-old Yorkie Russell- a Jack Russel/Yorkshire terrier cross.
If you would like to help local communities, inspire change and create opportunities and help to create a safe environment then you might want to consider applying to become a PCSO.
