Appeal following alleged robbery at a car park in Chesterfield
Main article content
Officers investigating a suspected robbery in Chesterfield are appealing for information.
It happened at about 7.30pm yesterday (Thursday 2 July), at the Sheffield Road car park, which is opposite the Holywell Cross or Donut car park.
A 22-year-old man met with three other men having earlier arranged to exchange items he was selling online.
The men arrived in a silver coloured car, possibly be a Ford Focus, and after checking the goods one of the men has allegedly grabbed the victim’s coat and threatened him with a knife.
They tried to load items into the car, but have needed more space, so made the victim drive a short distance in his own vehicle to Princess Street, off Newbold Road.
One of the offenders is thought to have left the Sheffield Road car park in the silver car.
Once at Princess Street, the remaining items have been loaded into a taxi by the other two offenders, which has then set off just after 8.30pm and taken them to Loughborough.
The offenders are all described as being black, and wearing dark clothing. One is thought to have been wearing a surgical style face covering.
We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, at either the car park or on Princess Street, or with any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident.
