Officers investigating an alleged assault in Wirksworth would like to speak to a woman they think may have seen the incident.
It is as they investigate an altercation between two groups of teenagers between around 4.30pm and 5.15pm on Wednesday 1 July on a dirt track just off Old Lane.
A 17-year-old boy suffered bruising and cuts to his face.
The woman is thought to have walked passed during the incident, and afterwards stopped to speak to a few of the boys.
She had been wearing a purple jacket and hiking boots, and was carrying a backpack.
