Officers from our Oakwood Safer Neighbourhood Team have treated the residents of a local retirement home to a ‘Phish and Chip’ supper.
The team visited the Meadowlark Grove Retirement Home last week on Wednesday 14th August to introduce themselves and speak about the dangers of cyber-crime.
They went with fish and chips, provided with help from Oakwood Fish Bar, PCSO Dan Waites, from the team explains: “The event was a real success.
“We spoke of the dangers of cyber-crime, including phising, the dangers of being targeted via email telephone or text message by someone posing as a legitimate institution to lure individuals into providing sensitive data such as personally identifiable information, banking and credit card details, and passwords.
“The talk was very well received, helped of course by the fish and chips.”
