A new Inspector has been appointed to be in charge of policing in the west of Derby, covering Normanton, Peartree, Mickleover, Littleover and Stockbrook areas of the city.
It’s a return to Peartree police station for Inspector Keith Chambers who has worked in the area as both a PC and a Sergeant.
Keith takes over the role from Becky Webster who has been promoted to Chief Inspector and is now working at the Divisional Headquarters at St Mary’s Wharf in Derby.
Inspector Chambers, seen here pictured outside the police station in Peartree, has been a police officer for 19 years and first came to Peartree as a PC back in 2004. He said: “My policing roots are at Peartree Police Station and I have worked here previously as both a PC and then a Sergeant on the Safer Neighbourhood team.
“It’s been great catching up with people I have worked with before, both inside the station as well as partners and members of the community.
“It’s a special place to work, full of people who want to make their area better, safer and a more pleasant place to work and live.
“I intend to be getting out and about with my officers and meeting people in the community to get to grips with their worries and concerns.”
