Members of the Safer Neighbourhood team covering student accommodation in Derby are offering ‘freshers’ the opportunity to come and meet their local cops.
The events are taking place at a number of University of Derby halls of residence over the next couple of weeks.
Sergeant Dan Potts, who is in charge of the Allestree and Darley Safer Neighbourhood Teams, explained: “We understand that at this time of year we are joined by a whole set of new students who are living in the city for the first time.
“We want to re-assure them that whilst Derby is a safe place to life and visit there are easy steps they can take to ensure they don’t become victims of crime and can feel safer.
“This will be an informal opportunity to come and have a chat, meet the team and speak to us about any concerns they may have.”
The events are taking place as follows:
Monday, 7th October
6pm at Sir Peter Hilton Court, Agard Street
7pm at Peak Court, Bridge Street.
Tuesday, 8th October
6pm at Princess Alice Court, Bridge Street
Monday, 14th October
6pm at Nunnery Court, Nuns Street.
If you would like to speak to the team but can’t make any of these dates then don’t hesitate to contact the team using any of the following non-emergency contact methods:
Please note in the event of an emergency you should always call 999.
