We have a new officer in charge of Safer Neighbourhood policing in the Peartree, Normanton and Rosehill areas of Derby.
Sergeant Ben Frearson (pictured) has been a police officer for more than 10 years, working in the Derby area.
He joins from the re-active team at Peartree police station, so knows the area well.
Talking on his full day in the role on Monday, 23 November, Ben said: “I am really pleased to be joining the Safer Neighbourhood team (SNT) here at Peartree. The majority of my policing career has been spent covering this area of Derby and I am passionate about making it as safe as possible for people to visit, live and work in.
“Leading the SNT gives me the opportunity to work with the community and our partners, to work towards some longer term solutions to problems in the area.
“I am determined that the team will have a pro-active approach to policing and that there will be no hiding place for those that want to commit crime or anti-social behaviour in the area."
