Public Notice of Accelerated Misconduct Hearing – to be held in public - Constable Nicholas Lovatt
An Accelerated Hearing in respect of the above-named officer is to be held at the Derbyshire Police, Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, Ripley, Derbyshire, commencing at 09:30 hours on Wednesday 02 September 2026 and is currently scheduled to last for one day.
The officer will answer an allegation that his conduct amounts to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour for:
- Honesty and Integrity
- Discreditable Conduct
Contrary to the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020, in that:
On various occasions he drove/rode two separate vehicles on the public highway knowing and/or ought to have known, that the vehicles were either SORN and/or uninsured and/or had no valid MOT test certificate. Furthermore; the officer misled a colleague when asked whether a vehicle was insured.
The Chair of the hearing - Chief Constable Simon Blatchly, has determined that the hearing will be held in public. However, it may be necessary for certain aspects of the hearing to be heard in private or that the identity of certain individuals in the case may require anonymisation to protect their identity.
