2023 List of Dismissals - Police Officers/Police staff and Former Police Officers/Police Staff

The Officer answered allegations that their conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of ‘Discreditable Conduct,’ ‘Duties and Responsibilities’ and ‘Honesty and Integrity’ in that the officer failed in his duties to investigate a reported crime and in turn misled the victim into believing that the case had been referred to the Crown Prosecution Service. Furthermore, the officer misled a colleague into believing that he had attended a course as arranged, when in fact this was not the case.

These allegations are contrary to the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020.

The former staff member answered allegations that their conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of ‘Discreditable conduct’ and ‘Honesty and Integrity’ in that their conduct involved the repeated commission of criminal offences against children over an extended period and resulted in a lengthy prison sentence.

The staff member answered allegations that their conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of ‘Discreditable conduct’ and ‘Work and responsibilities’ in that whilst on duty they accessed, for uncontrolled periods of time explicit adult material and exchanged messages on force technology. During the course of these exchanges the officer provided Police mobile telephone details thereby identifying himself as a member of the Constabulary.

The former officer answered allegations that their conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of ‘Authority, Respect and Courtesy’, ‘Discreditable Conduct’, ‘Equality and Diversity’ and ‘Duties and Responsibilities’ in that whilst off duty socialising with colleagues, the officer used racially inappropriate language, was discourteous towards his colleagues and behaved in a manner unbecoming of a police officer. Furthermore, the officer failed in his duties to properly investigate and record an allegation reported to him by a member of the public and was discourteous and threatening towards them.

 These allegations are contrary to the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020.

The officer would have been dismissed had they remained serving.

The former officer answered allegations that their conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of ‘Discreditable Conduct’ in that whilst off duty, the officer was involved in a violent altercation in licensed premises.

These allegations are contrary to the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020.

The officer answered allegations that their conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of ‘Discreditable Conduct’ in that during a social event the officer was involved in an altercation with a work colleague, which resulted in them receiving a criminal conviction for common assault.

The former staff member answered allegations that their conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of, Honesty and Integrity, Authority, Respect and Courtesy, and Discreditable Conduct in that they abused their position of authority by having an inappropriate emotional/sexual relationship with a vulnerable member of the public.

The former officer answered allegations that their conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of, Honesty and Integrity, Duties and Responsibilities, Authority, Respect and Courtesy and Discreditable Conduct in that they failed to investigate honestly and diligently a crime from another force that they had agreed to progress alongside Derbyshire offences.

These allegations are contrary to the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020.

The former officer answered allegations that their conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of, Honesty and Integrity, Duties and Responsibilities, Orders and Instructions and Discreditable Conduct in that;

• The way they dealt with a domestic incident and in particular the recording and investigation of an allegation of assault.
• The use of a police vehicle with blue lights activated, despite not being authorised to do so.
• The way they conducted a suspect interview.
• The way they failed to record allegations of a sexual offence.

These allegations are contrary to the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020.

The former officer answered allegations that their conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of  ‘Honesty and Integrity’ and ‘Duties and responsibilities’, in that, they failed to perform their duties expeditiously and diligently when attending a domestic incident. It is further alleged that they provided false and/or misleading information to a supervisor in respect of the aforementioned domestic incident. 

These allegations were contrary to the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020.
