Appeal for information following crash in Buxton

Officers are appealing for information following a crash involving two cars in Buxton.

The collision involved a red Volkswagen Golf and a black Honda SUV on the A6 Bakewell Road, close to the turn off for Ashwood Dale Quarry, at about 10.20pm on Saturday 8 August.

A 22-year-old man who was driving the Golf sustained serious injuries, whilst a 19-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, suffered minor injuries.

A 19-year-old man driving the Honda was checked over by paramedics at the scene but did not sustain any serious injuries.

Officers investigating the crash are now appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.

The red Golf is very distinctive looking and is an older model, which was potentially manufactured in the 1980s and has a yellow roll cage.

It is believed there were two other vehicles in the area around the time of the crash, both hatchbacks and one of which was dark in colour.

Officers would like to speak to the drivers of both of these vehicles.
