Witness appeal after reports of women assaulted in Normanton

Officers are appealing for witnesses to a series of reported assaults of women in Normanton, Debry, in April and May.

Seven incidents were reported to officers with women reporting being approached and then assaulted by a man.

A 36-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incidents and remains detained in hospital.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed any of the incidents that took place on the following dates and locations. In particular, the victims mentioned seeing members of the public who either witnessed the incident or came to their aid.

Between 3.55pm and – 4pm on Wednesday April 29 in Grove Street, Normanton – a woman with a pushchair walked past but no details known.

At around 9.30am on Monday May 18 in Derby Lane, Normanton – an unknown woman came to the victim’s aid and took her home.
