Messages you send to family, friends and colleagues should be private, and only read by someone else if you want them to be.
If your partner demands to check your messages, or secretly goes through your phone when you are out of the room, this could be a sign of controlling behaviour.
If you think someone is checking up on the messages you send and receive but don’t know how to raise it, support is available.
