Officers are advising motorbike owners to be vigilant against theft as we continue to see motorbikes being targeted by thieves in the Chaddesden and Spondon area.
A targeted operation and extra patrols are in place to help tackle the thefts, but there are a number of measures you can take to protect your bike:
Sergeant Luke Scribbins said: “Officers from Chaddesden and Spondon Safer Neighbourhood team will be out and about looking to catch and deter these thieves in the area, but bike owners can help protect their motorbike by taking the steps above.
“We’re also asking for anyone who sees suspicious behaviour to report it to us. This might be someone acting suspiciously, coming across motorbikes being hidden in local parks or fields or hearing information about someone selling bikes or parts on.
“All information can help us to build a picture and take action. If you see a crime in progress, please call 999.”
