T/DCC Michelle Shooter has been recognised in the King’s Birthday honours 2026.

Starting in force as police staff in the Criminal Justice Department, before becoming a Special Constable and a regular in January 1999, Michelle has served all her policing career in Derbyshire. She has received the King’s Policing Medal (KPM) for her services to policing.
She has delivered across several significant portfolios, including most recently as the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) Neighbourhood Policing lead, where she has championed the specialist nature of local policing, recognising the difference it makes to community confidence.
T/Chief Constable Simon Blatchly said: “I would like to congratulate Michelle on receiving the King’s Policing Medal for her services to policing. Throughout her career, she has remained passionate about policing in Derbyshire, keeping people safe and putting community policing at the heart of what we do.”
