A Derby bar has been closed temporarily after its licence was suspended.
The R Lounge in Victoria Street had its licence suspended during an expedited hearing at Derby City Council today (Friday 1 May).
The venue will remain closed until a full hearing on Wednesday 27 May.
The bar’s licence was suspended following an application from Derbyshire Constabulary on the grounds of concerns about disorder linked to the venue.
In addition, we are investigating reports of a firearms discharge in Becket Well Lane, at the rear of the venue, at around 2.30am on Sunday 26 April.
No-one was reported as being injured but a scene was put in place while investigations took place, which has since been removed.
Two men, aged 20 and 46, along with a 21-year-old woman, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The 46-year-old man has been recalled to prison in relation to another matter and bailed in connection with the investigation into the firearms incident.
The 21-year-old woman has been bailed with conditions.
The 20-year-old man remains in police custody.
We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, as well as anyone who has any information.
