A trio of burglars who broke into a barber’s shop in Spondon have been given prison sentences.

We received a call from the owner of the business to report that the shop had been broken into at about 2am on Saturday 8 March last year.
Once inside the premises, three men stole a number of items including clippers, shavers, styling products and a substantial amount of cash.
Officers reviewed the CCTV footage and the suspects were identified.
Three Spondon men - Ian Orme (50) and Callum Denton (29), both of Dovedale Road, along with Gareth Cartwright (43) of Arnhem Terrace – were all charged with burglary.
They admitted the charges and were given prison sentences during two hearings at Derby Crown Court on Friday 20 March and Tuesday 26 May.
Orme was jailed for 15 months, Denton got a 9-month sentence and Cartwright was given a 15-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.
Sergeant Luke Scribbins, of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “When a business is burgled, the proprietor is always left out of pocket and has to pick up the financial burden.
“Business owners work hard to build up and establish their business and when their livelihoods are targeted there is also an emotional strain.
“But I would like to reassure business owners that incidents of this nature will be investigated and once perpetrators are caught they will feel the full force of the law and be brought to justice.”
