Over 30 life-saving emergency bleed control kits have been delivered to venues across Derbyshire as part of an innovative new project, with more to come.
Stocked with a range of items designed to help control a catastrophic bleed, an initial allocation of kits have now been located at licensed premises and community buildings across the area.
The kits are designed to be used by members of the public to provide help before the arrival of emergency services.
They contain a trauma dressing, gauze dressing, chest seal, tourniquet, gloves and scissors.
The kits were first introduced following the death of Daniel Baird in 2017. The 26-year-old was fatally stabbed after a night out in Birmingham. After his death, his family set up the Daniel Baird Foundation Charity and launched the bleed control kits.
An initial allocation of kits have now been located across the county with plans to add more once funding can be secured.
