The lives of our workforce outside of the police family form a huge part of their identities and what they bring to the workplace. They also complement and support the work we do as a police force.
Staff networks are a valuable asset championing our force priorities around trust and legitimacy and supporting our people, offering the added value of insight. They are instrumental in creating and offering solutions and enhancing motivation which can help develop a culture whereby people feel able to be authentic and bring their whole selves - not just their skills and competencies - but their knowledge, connections and personalities to the workplace.
Staff networks help promote the message that in Derbyshire Constabulary, we truly do value people and their difference, championing the benefits of inclusivity so everyone can achieve more and feel part of our policing family.

The staff networks are highly valued by the force as a source of support to individuals but also as a ‘critical friend’, which enables us to work together to address and solve problems for under-represented individuals, and ultimately improve individuals' experiences at work and support their health and wellbeing.
For further information on each of the staff networks can be found here.
