The Armed Forces Covenant

Derbyshire Constabulary is proud to support the UK's military forces and to be a part of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy, and society they serve with their lives.

Derbyshire Constabulary recognises the valuable contribution that serving and former members of the Armed Forces make to the policing of our communities. The Armed Forces Covenant also provides support for those transitioning to post-service careers in the police.

The Employer Recognition Scheme

The Employer Recognition Scheme encourages employers to support defence and inspire other organisations to do the same. The scheme encompasses Bronze, Silver and Gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

Derbyshire Constabulary was awarded the Silver award in 2017.

This award recognises employers who have actively demonstrated their support for the Armed Forces community through implementing practical policies in the workplace.
